Laptop will only turn on

Hello,
please help,my sons laptop will only turn on and will do nothing else at all we have been told to get a recovery disc,which should do the job,please help we dont seem to have much luck with computers

Hi Jane,

Is the fan running or is it completely dead?

To fix this issue remove your battery then hold on pressing the power button for 60 seconds.Then connect your power adapter to it and power on,after having it successfully booted make a shutdown of system then connect back the battery followed bay power adapter.
