Hello,
Try this 1
When the black screen appears hold the Ctrl & Shift keys and press the "Esc"
key. "Task Manager" will be opened.
Click on "File" --> New Task --> Type explorer.exe and press Enter.

Hi Philip if you install any new program which is causing this problem than try to un install that program you can even recover your data restart your pc press f8 computer will show you few options select safe mode it will take you into your windows.

Hello, If your screen is black but your cursor is working then explorer isn't loading properly.
-Hit Ctrl+Alt+Del to bring up task manager (or Ctrl+Shift+Esc)
-Once the task manager comes up, go to the top left of the window and click on file----> New Task(Run)
-In the box type in "explorer.exe"
-Then hit Enter
This should fix that issue since i have run into that problem quite a bit. Still trying to find a permanent solution but....you know how windows is.
