sound compatibiltiy? Closed

Hello, 

my friend gave me a dvd.  my sound does work on some dvds, but it doesnt work on some other DVDs.  she said i might have to change the setting.  

i tried going into settings, i tried some of the advise given on this webpage.  none of them works.

as i said, my sound is working, but for some reason, when i change to another dvd, it doesnt work.  im thinking something is not compatible, but i dont know what to do....
