Hello,
I have vista home basic (about 7 years old) and my internet explorer is suddenly not working on my desktop. My husbands Ipad and laptop work wirelessly and when plugged in. When I. Open explorer I get the cannot display the webpage page. Refresh does nothing. Per the diagnostic the connection is perfect and its says the desktop is connected. Its as if explorer is blocked. Doesn't even try to find page. Any suggestions? When I ran windows security the only thing tht came up was win92 Maybe? I think that's what it was called. Help. Pls

You might try to reset the Internet Explorer security settings to the default settings. There is a virus that adds a bogus proxy server to IE.
You can find it under Tools and Internet Options.

Hello,

You could either try re-installing Internet explorer, or you could switch to google chrome.

Good luck

Xpcman. I tried this twice, once without checking removimg personal settings and once with checking it. Neither helped. Do I have to restart computer for it to work? Colzy123, I would love to reload explorer but the disk drive is bad. Or at least it wont open. Was thinking I could use system disk too, but that wont work either. I tried to install chrome from a stick drive but that didnt work. Right clicked and ran as administrator, entered password and nothing happened. A littlr notpad popped up on desktop named debug and when opened it amongst othrr characters it said error. Im hoping it was a bad application and not the virus not allowing it to run.
