Why was my question moved?

Posted a question in the Software forum about what I assume is an audio driver problem I'm having with a Gateway desktop. It was called 'Strange Audio Problem' and IMHO it has nothing to do with hardware, yet someone took it upon themselves to move it to this forum.

I would have expected that anyone with the expertise to immediately recognize this as a hardware issue (and not a software problem) would have at least given me some sort of answer as to WHY they though it was a hardware problem, and HOW I might go about resolving it.
