So I've my dv4 for probably somewhere around three years now and it has usually worked pretty decent aside from little things here and there.
Suddenly though last night I turned it on and I was using it when I shifted the screen just slightly and it went black. I have only a certain angle where the screen will light up and work fully.
Is this wiring, the screen itself, just something random, or is the laptop even savable anymore? :(

Often the cable connecting the screen and motherboard will fail after repeated use. I suggest you test with an external monitor to see if the PC is stable. Then you should contact a good repair shop and have them replace the cable.
Good Luck
