printer installed but can't print in windows 8 Closed

Question

Hello,  

When I try to print any document, I receive the message : "This program does not have a file associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program, or if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Program control panel" 

I am a new user of Windows 8 and have spent the last two hours trying to find the Default Program Control Panel. 

Help please !  Thank you. 



Configuration: Windows 8 / Chrome 22.0.1229.79

Hello jack4rall and many thanks for your reply.  Yes I have learnt how to open other applications............... and in fact since submitting my enquiry I have discovered how to open the Default Control pane (although whether I could do it again remains to be seen!)  However, if it was written in Chinese it wouldn't mean any less to me!  So, any clear pointers you could give would be most appreciated.
