Hi juliet j,
Most of the Wi-Fi related problems are solved once the drivers are up to date. Please try and update the Wireless Card Drivers by downloading from the Manufacturer's Website. In addition I would like to know what "Red Stripe" you are referring to. If possible please update a screenshot (Print Screen) of the error screen using the following link:
