I have a toshiba laptop L755 satellite. It shuts off randomly. Not the same place everytime. Someone had suggested restoring to out of the box default settings. While I was doing this it shut off in the middle and now when I turn it on it is a gray screen with a blinking cursor in the upper left corner and will do nothing else. Can someone please help. I have had the machine cleaned and looked at. They pulled a few parts and put them back and said it stayed on for them. I had it a half hour and it started shutting off again. Can someone please tell me what to do next

Hi denhosk,
You have mentioned the computer was looked at and repaired after you were facing the blinking-cursor issue. I would like to know what the situation was after the computer was returned from repair. Did the computer boot to Windows before shutting down? If the computer boots to Windows and stays on, kindly run the "TOSHIBA PC Diagnostic" by clicking Start -> All Programs -> TOSHIBA -> Utilities -> PC Diagnostic Tool. (Note: you can run the "TOSHIBA PC Diagnostic" only if the original Operating System is still installed or Factory Restore was done by the repair-center).
Please do write back to us.
