We had a power surge. Tried to start up Toshiba laptop by holding down start button but it won't come on. Tried taking battery out, and disconnecting all power. The power button won't even light up. All back together. Still wont start up. Suggestions please before I have to get my tech guy?

Hello,

I have bad news for you.

Sorry but if the lap was not connected through a power bar with surge protection, your motherboard fried.

Only a qualified hand-on technician can see to the issue.

Thanks for suggestions. Couldn't wait. Rang my tech guy, explained to him, and he suggested the power pack could be the problem. Sure enough, after the computer guys tested it, bought a new power pack - we're back on track again.
PS I did have it connected thru a surge power board, so maybe that protected it to a certain extent.
