My Toshiba laptop will not boot up

My Toshiba laptop comes up with a black screen with an option of F2 or F12 neither of which work. I cannot get it into safe mode anymore, when i did it said it could not locate the Hard drive. PLEASE HELP

It looks like the hard drive has failed. You will need to buy a new hard drive and re-install Windows.

Many thanks for your help. I will have to take it to someone to replace the hard drive then. £££?
