I had same problem.
Looked for days into that problem.
Finally (in IE) I checked the encryption and that was it.
In my IE browser only SSL 1.0 and SSL 2.0 were checked.
Then I also checked TLS 1.0 in ADVANCED INTERNET OPTIONS
and that solved the problem.
Now I know, typing
http://www.f....... only makes an handshake to establish a secure connection under
httpS://www.f...
If your encryption is not good enough , no page is loading.

for facebook opening, you should adopt this procedure where FB is not opening as ordinarily
you your internet option and tab:
set it defalt and add one more effective site
put FB full address or any address which is obviously prohibited in your country
save the setting and
enjoy ...

Hello,
Try this 1
First check if you are able to ping to those sites.
Click on Start --> Run --> Type cmd and press Enter. "Command Prompt" will be opened.
Now enter the below command.
ping www.facebook.com --> Press Enter.
Are you getting the reply messages ? Also let me know the complete error message you are getting when trying to open the site in any browsers.
Good Luck

Zia,
Try deleting all of your temporary files and cookies, it should fix the problem.
