I cant access my external WD hard drive...

i observed that my hard disc is taking more than usual time to detect...it detected after 5 minutes....i want to format it n clicked start to format that and cancelled immediately....Later i connected it again it said to format the device to use it, i clicked the quick format later it came "Windows is unable to format this device" I tried other means like device manager , CMD manager but helpless...i dont need any data i just want to format that...please suggest me and thanks in advance....

It sounds like either the drive or the USB interface for the drive has failed. Did you try the drive on another computer?

yahh dude i checked that ....showing the drive but cant access that
