My external hdd malfunctioned

my external hdd doesn't appear in either the disk management nor my computer but shows the red power light that tells if its connected to a working usb port... it also doesn't show up on the taskbar... what should i do? i need help seriously... don't need any file in it, can format the whole thing, don't really care... help pls...

Hi tonymelah,
As you mentioned the Hard Drive is no longer detected in the Disk Management, try using a different Data Cable and attempt to connect. Also, try to connect to a different computer and check. If the Hard Drive is still not detect you might want to contact the Hard Drive manufacturer if the Hard Drive is still in warranty.
