At first glance, I say take it back and get a machine that has 7 on it, you will not pay the premium for newest and greatest, as you wil not be using it.
The scond thing to consider, DO you have a valid 7 license? If you do not , then you cannot, as it still needs a license to run, (your 8 wil not do it).
So if you have a valid license, get the OS from Microsoft, and have at it.
