Hello,

I think I have a virus on my computer, running Windows XP, Mcafee. Started to get problems booting thought it was windows playing up and tried to repair. I keep getting init.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close coming up all the time. Noticed that when connected to the internet even when I wasn't on internet explorer the router was going mad. I loaded malwarebytes copied from someones laptop I borrowed in safe mode & it cleared lots of trojans etc. I then rebooted and tried it againand found another 3. i was told to update Malwarebytes and turn off router when done, but it wouldn't update got an error. I uninstalled & reloaded Mcafee as the program was coming up without the pictures for the icons. Ran a scan and it got stuck on a certain file, but it found 380 errors and quarrantined 340. Had to cancel scan. Ran out of time and shutdown, next time I tried to boot up I didn't get any icons or task bar, have managed to fix that with some advice from this site, thanks. Now I have desktop up with icons, I have the following errors : run-time erroe 10013, the requested address is a broadcast address, but flag is not set & error loading C:\windows\xccdf16_09013a.dll, I've still got the init.exe report to Microsoft box as well. Can someone help and let me know the next move, I've obviously got a virus, but don't want to run Mcafee again if thats been corrupted as well, I've been working on this for a week and it's driving me insane and don't want to connect to the internet if data's being uploaded someone else. Thanks.

hi,
it would have helped me a lot if you would have given more details about the problems you are facing with your computer. some problems may not be from virus origin.
well, if you are sure that you are having a virus problem, download an anti-virus from the internet and then run it on you computer. this should remove the virus.
