Help my Toshibia laptop will not start up!!

Hello everyone, I do not know if I am in the correct area but I really need help. My mother is living with me and her computer will not start up corectly. She has a Toshibia Laptop and when you try to start it up, it just shows a black screen and a cursor. I do not know what type of Toshibia it is and I do not know how to find it. Could someone please Help?????

Hello,

Try this 1

Unplug the power --> remove the battery --> Hold the power button for 60

seconds to 2 minutes --> Connect the power supply then try to switch ON the laptop and later

Put the battery back into the laptop.
