Hello,
I have an acer ase-380. I recently had a problem where my system wouldn't bootup. There was no output to monitor, keyboard or mouse. I replace the motherboard with an asus motherboard and now it starts up and takes me to my former main page which shows multiple log on users. At this point I login to the administrator account and it tell me I need to activate windows. When I try through the internet connection it says I can't due to no connection. So then I presumed I needed to load the motherboard drivers. Well I made sure that my dvd rom was the 1st option on my power on. Well when I put my asus motherboard cd in the drive and boot up it doesn't recognize it. There is power to the drive and sounds like it runs but it just ends up back at the multi user log on page.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You do not BOOT from the motherboard driver CD. All you need to do is put the CD into the drive. It should auto start and give you an option to install the drivers.
You are correct that you need to install the network driver before you can access the Internet. You should install ALL the drivers on the CD.
Good Luck

Ok you are correct. I have tried the cd in my laptop and it does auto start. On my pc with the issue I am hearing 2 short beeps and it doesn't auto start. Does anyone know what these 2 beeps mean?

can you open the DVD drive in explorer? If so - you can double click on the Setup.exe file on the CD and bypass the autostart.

No unfortunately I cannot get to explorer. I am at a point where it asking me to connect to the internet to activate windows. At this point I am being told there's no connectivity to the internet. Which I am beiieving is due to the fact that I haven't been able to install my motherboard drivers. (Lan Driver)

At this point I think you need to reinstall Windows. When changing a motherboard it's always best to install a fresh copy of the OS. Windows XP has a repair/install feature that will reinstall without removing you existing applications. Vista does not have this option. See this link for instructions:
