I want to use an LG TV in my hotel room as a dual monitor with my laptop. I have it all hooked up properly through display properties- settings-etc. What happens is the TV screen shows my laptop's wallpaper background but no icons. The cursor is not there either and nothing else shows on the TV monitor (which I set as monitor #2). I can use the laptop just fine but not the TV. It's like I am just using the laptop screen. I don't know if the problem is with my laptop settings or configuration or with the TV itself. I have tried all the resolution and display settings, etc. I can identify the TV as monitor #2, and a large "2" will show up onthe TV but nothing else. I am connected VGA to VGA in terms of the cable. Anyone ableto solve this?

This sounds like you have the TV set as an extension of the laptop screen. To see if this is true just drag one of your icons off the right side of the laptop screen. I should then appear on the TV.

If you want the TV screen to mirror the laptop screen you need to choose the "clone" mode.

Good Luck
