My Laptop Wont Start!! Please help!!!

Hi, I'm a university student and I really need my laptop. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here's whats going on:
I have a Toshiba C70D - A and it turned on to the main start up screen where it just says "Toshiba" and there are three arrows, but its not doing anything else. Then the screen flashes blue, and turns back to black and stayed like that over night. I tried taking the battery out but it didn't help. I can't take the laptop in until later this week and I really need it now. Thanks so much.
