i have been given a dell inspiron to try and fix.... when u boot it up normally everything fine till u put in password screen says welcome then goes white followed by black screen and nothing else..... i can see the mouse courser but nothing else....

i have booted in safe mode and everything works fine... i have tired restoring to various different times before but the only wave i an start system restore is in safe mode then it reboots and trys loading the normal way and still black screen....

when i go back in to safe mode it says the restore was unsucessful

can anyone help please

If you are using Windows 7 I suggest you boot from the DVD and try a "repair".
