Starts normally, black screen follows

My Asus laptop would turn on normally, then windows error recovery would be shown on the screen. It said that previously the laptop was kinda forced to shut down (which is true). I would choose to start windows normally. And then it would continue to the blue welcome screen. Then it would end up with a black screen and a working pointer in the middle. But there was no buttons or a bar. So i would shut it down by pressing and holding the on/off button. And the same thing would happen again and again. I tried taking the battery off for an hour, but it didnt do much
