Questions relating to pendrive not recognised by laptops have been asked earlier also. This one might be a mix up of them.
My laptop [HP probook] does not recognise some pendrives but recognises others.
In the case of the latest pendrive not working the symptoms are like this:
1. The hardware is recognised and a sound comes on when I insert the pendrive.
2. A drive is assigned to the pendrive. It has over 4 gb data, but it shows 0 bytes full, 0 bytes space.
3. On someone's advice I went to disk management, changed the drive letter, it flickered for a second and showed about 8 gb volume but immediately started saying 'no media'.
4. When I put the same drive on my desktop and another laptop, it worked fully fine.
5. Removing USB drivers / controllers does not help

No solution in sight! ;(
All other pendrives open but not this one with so much data in it! Windows can't read it at all!!
