Hiya my dell comes up and loads but the screen is black. When I tilt it flat I can see my desktop and all my icons but its too dark to work on. I've tried increasing the light but its still not working. Can you help please?

This looks like a problem with the "backlight" or the "inverter" that powers the backlight. Either problem requires a qualified tech to open up the laptop and replace the components. I suggest you take the laptop to a local repair shop.
