How long can a laptop run?

I really have a slow internet connection and i have to patch a game, it has been an hour but its only 3% , how long can an acer laptop run without overheating? Oh and its summer in here so its really hot.

It all depends on your fan, ventilation, the environment, your laptop's resistance to heat.

well it was hot in here, thanks for replying though , i think i should just get a better wifi. :)
