Hello,My friend has a new compaq laptop and his keyboard has some letter keys that have numbers in the corners of the keys but when he tries to type the letter ex- U or i the number appears instead of the letter but not all the letters ahve numbers in the corner of the key button. My Dell laptop has no numbers in the letter keys.
can you help please?
On some laptop computers, Num Lock keys are used to convert part of the main keyboard to act as a (slightly skewed) numeric keypad rather than letters. Activating the Num Lock function changes the key function and typically requires use of the Fn key. I suspect a defective keyboard if only some of the keys are set to the keypad status. But, he should check that the Num Lock function is turned off.
