Dell D620 display problems

One day while I was playing a game, the screen display suddenly went to a 1-inch display with colorful lines. I rebooted and I got vertical lines spaced about 1/4-inch apart across the whole display. The windows logo comes up, but then after that, nothing. I have replaced the display, but it is still the same. What might it be?

Sound like a video chip problem. Which means a replacement motherboard.
