External Drive not detecting

Hello,

i bought a new external drive kit and tried to connect my old laptop hard disk which was working earlier.but now it is detecting the usb and showing "mass storage device usb device" but no detecting of hardisk and showing up in the my computer.

when i look into the computer management-> disk drives-> mass storage device usb device-> properties-> device type disk drive
manufacturer standard disk drives
location location 0


please help me.

Hi there,

Could be give me some more details about the drive and the kit? Is the drive visible in Disk Management? If it is, does it have a letter? Is the drive spinning when you connect it to your laptop? I would advise you to check the drive on another PC and with another USB cable.

Let me know if you have any progress.
