Hi there,
It is very important if the drive has been modified to be used in that Xbox. If it has been formatted especially for that, you will be having troubles getting that information back. I advise you to ask him if he has done some changes like that. Did he save something, while the drive was attached to the Xbox?
The Xbox 360 only supports FAT32 file format. If your drive used to be NTFS formatted, probably it has been formatted to be used in the Xbox. Could you check that?
