Start by clearing your browser cache, temp files. Also disable any add-ins that may be running. Disable all of the add-ins and see if the performance improves. If it does, enable each one, One-by-one, until it degrades. You should be able to determine the performance cause with that method. Start with that and let us know!

Besides what Mark suggested, I would not take any chances.
Download, update and run this disinfection tool:

The scan may take long on your big machine but let it run. This is your chance to finally read War and Peace or to watch a rerun of Gone with the Wind.
