Windows 8
Toshiba Satillite

At first my laptop's track pad froze, so I shut down my computer and turned it back on again. When I did the screen was just black. After a while the 'toshiba leading innovation' logo popped up, along with some text on the bottom saying 'preparing automatic recovery' after a long while it said 'diagnosing your pc' after the screen would turn black later with the logo coming up again with the text 'repairing disk errors this might take over an hour'. After the screen would either turn blue saying 'your pc needs to restart' or the computer would shut down. Its been a week and my computers still in this loop, I cant do anything on my laptop and I honestly dont know what do? Is it just gone for good?

Perhaps you hard disk has failed and needs to be replaced. I suggest you have a local PC repair shop take a look at it.

Good luck

Hi there,

Unfortunately, the hard drive may have failed. Do you have warranty left? If not, remove the HDD from the laptop and connect it to a PC in order to see if it is accessible and if you can save some data. You can find some instructions in the manual. If you have warranty left, contact the reseller and do no try to open the laptop, because you may void the warranty.

Hope this helps
