Factory resetting my Sony Vaio laptop

Hello, I have a Sony vaio laptop computer. I wanna factory reset the entire thing. I read a comment how you hold down alt+F10 while it re-boots. For how long do I hold it down? And when exactly should I press it? After its loading the desktop up or when? Help as soon as possible would be nice. Thank you

Hi

Press the power button and immediately press alt+F10

When you see the option screen open release the keys.
