Hello,
i have a western digital essential edition whcih i have had for few weeks it is a usb plug and work connection
it has worked ok up until yesterday when it lights up and the two blue light are shown as solid lights on the hard drive
it says on the device manager it is connected and working however it is not shown on my computer when it recognised it previously it was shown as f drive
is there anyway of resolving this issue or is the hard drive faulty ?

hi,
try to connect it to another port or in another computer.
if the problem persists in the other computer, then this will conclude that your drive is faulty.
