Laptop wont turn on

My HP laptop won't turn on! I have tried many things. I connected my xbox on there, the sides light up but the screen or the fan was not working. It's been not working for a year! can somebody help?

I tried unpluging everything like the battery pack, then the charger, hold the power button for 60 seconds, then put on the charger then the battery pack, it did not work.. I don't want to go the the HP store to get it fixed because I know there is a way to fix it. If someone knows a trick, please say it.
