Help me My iPod is dead for months

Hello, My Name Is Bob so one day my iPod 5 shut off cuz my battery ran out so i ordered a new lightning cord because it broke so it took 2 in 1/2 months to deliver to my house cuz it came from hong kong so when it arrived i tried charging it and IT WAS NOT WORKING PEASE SOMBODY HELP ME

It might need to be charged for a half hour or more before it comes back to life.
