No icons and I can't use the windows button or settings

Hello,



I have no idea what's wrong with my computer. There are no icons on the desktop and I can't click on the windows button. The only way I can open things is by by pushing control alt delete and then going in to the control panel. Also if I push the windows key nothing happens. I really just want to restore it to factory. Settings but I don't know how to from the control panel. I'm using windows 8.1 build 9600

What is the make and model of your computer?

It's a gateway I'm not sure about the model though
