Is the mouse button a mechanical key on this laptop?
It's possible that dirt has worked its way into the mechanism.
Perhaps you can use a can of pressurized air to clean it out.
Otherwise, you might need to replace the entire top portion of the laptop.

Thanks for the prompt reply.
I did see some people were saying they used control and f5 or control and f9 or fn and f5 and that it did work for them. This did not work for me. Any idea why it would work for them but not for me?
