if/when cpu temp shuts down a computer is there no advisory or alert box informing operator?
It does not indicate any messages on screen, but you check the temp in BIOS if your computer is ON. otherwise you don't

The manufacturers simply do not direct operators attention to temp because they have provided; auto shut down to protect CPU and do not want to open a can of worms for the oper to mess with.
