If you tried everything then there is nothing left to try.
I suggest you test using a second PC. If this PC also fails to connect then you can assume that the drive has failed and needs to be replaced. Even the slightest bump can destroy an external drive.

Hi furman,
Could you please give us some more details? What have you tried? Is the drive visible in Disk Management and in Device Manager? I strongly recommend you to check the device on another PC and with another USB cable. Can you feel the drive spinning and can you see the LED turned on when connected?
Do you have valuable information on that drive? If not, you may try formatting the drive from Disk Management.
If the drive is not visible in Windows and is not recognized on other PCs, unfortunately the drive may have failed. If you have warranty, contact the reseller.
If some PC recognizes the drive, use Data Lifeguard Diagnostic to verify drive's condition. I leave you a download link:
