WD Passport 0820 USB Device not Opening

Hello,
I am having an issue with my external Passport Drive. It Appears in the Device Manager list correctly: https://i.imgur.com/prnhm55.png
The Universal Serial Buss Controllers dont show any Yellow Triangles: https://i.imgur.com/qHxnRv8.png

But My file explorer stops opening when i plug my Passport in and stays like this: https://i.imgur.com/G3QafgK.png

Also this shows up when i try to do anything with my passport: https://i.imgur.com/1ueF5Jb.png

I really do not want to format it since i have many things I need in it.

If anyone can help I would really appreciate it. Thank you a lot

After plugging in the device, go to device manager (In run type "devmgmt.msc") In Device manager go to "Universal serial bus controllers" It should list the storage devices that you have connected to your PC. Right click and then click "Uninstall. Remove the USB drive and restart your system.
Try connecting the device again

Do you happen to know which one is the passport because I can't really tell?

I would think it would be a mass storage device, but I am not sure.

If you wish, a Western Digital Certified contributor will be online tomorrow morning.

R2D2 WD and two others actually work for Western Digital, I will refer your issue to them and they should get back to you within 18 hours, time for them to get out of bed in Europe.

Hello Kabi_ and Ambucias,

Sorry for the delay. :)
Kabi_, I would like to give you some ideas before bringing the WD external drive to a data recovery company, may I? :) Firstly, please check the connection cable, I mean the USB cable because it may have gotten unsoldered somehow. If you have another USB cable, please try with it to see what happens.
Secondly, if you have the option, please try to connect the WD My Passport to another computer or laptop to see if it gets recognized there.
In the third place, my advice would be to go to our official web site and to download the tool WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostics to check the health status of your drive.

Please make the extended test and attach a printscreen with the results.
