Hello mikoko652,
You can activate your hard drive by following these steps:
1. Go to start menu
2. When the option for Computer shows up, right click and then Manage
3. Open the Disk management
4. When you see the disks, find the one you have installed recently and right click on it
5. Select Make partition as Active
6. It might ask you to format it and select a drive letter
7. After that click Apply and yuo should be seeing your new drive on My Computer.
Cheers.

"make partition as Active", could it be shown differently in windows 7 pro?

If it's unallocated space you should assign a letter to it in the order Windows to be able to work with it. I really doubt there's any difference.
To assign a letter, please follow these steps:
1. When you have opened Disk Management make right-click the drive that you want to change, and then click Change Drive Letter and Paths.
2. Assign a drive letter by clicking Add, click the letter that you want to use, and then click OK. I would recommend you to be higher than M.
Good luck.
