Hello,

I am having problem with my Dell Inspiron 14 3442 laptop... it is not starting up correctly, I have tried the advanced option and that lead me to dell back up and recovery... I really badly needed the files stored in my pc... Please help me what to do.. An urgent reply is very much appreciated. Thanks

Hey there, gen.

I'd recommend that you connect the drive to a different computer either externally (via an external enclosure, a docking station, or a SATA to USB adapter), or internally via a SATA connection, to see if it's recognized. If it is - go ahead and backup any important data which you might have on it. However, if the drive is not recognized, try accessing it via Linux Live USB/DVD, to see if it's properly recognized and if you can get to your files, or try with data recovery software.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how everything goes.

Thank you Boogieman_WD, actually after a lot of tries from restarting and checking the Dell BackUp and Recovery, it finally opened... Thanks for the answer anyway, I find it very useful in case of emergency. :)
