My laptop isn't coming on

I tried removing the batt and long pressing the power button and then connected it to AC supply but it still isn't working. It doesn't make the usual sound of the hard disk coming on. The light just comes on for a few seconds and goes off on its own. What can be wrong

Probably the motherboard has failed. I suggest you have a local PC repair shop to a full diagnostic evaluation.
