1. Remove the battery and cable.
2. Press and hold the power button for 58 seconds.
3. Replug and start.

Certainly looks like a power supply issue. Since it is a brand new laptop, under warranty, I suggest you rush to have it replaced. I also suggest you insist for a replacement not a repair as you may have a lemon.

I'm afraid to say that I have tried that and it doesn't work :(
