My laptop is on but the screen is black

Hello, am using a Toshiba laptop satellite p55a5200 and yesterday after I shut down and turned it back on the screen became black, the system comes on, but the screen is always black although there are little amount of lights showing on the screen and red light that won't come off, please help, how can I fix this?

You probably can't fix it. It's either a problem with the video chip, video cable and or the screen itself. Any and all of these parts require a qualified PC tech to fix.
