Hello lalith,
What type of hard disk are you talking about - external or internal drive? If it's external I would like to ask if you have made any any accidential unplug of the drive from the USB port?
If it's an internal I need to know the exact error message that you see on your display in order to be able to help you better.
You could try accessing your drive with a Linux Live CD and/or thirdparty software for data recovery.
Please, come and share more info regarding the issue you are having.
Cheers.
