DELL Laptop not displaying

When i connect power cable and try to plug in to the laptop, it cutt off the power from the cable. This proble where at first solved. It caused another problem that the cable is showing power connection and it does not shutt off. When i plug in, i try to switch on it keeps on for not more than 5sec it shutt off. What is wrong with my laptop? Please i need a support.

Probably your motherboard has failed and needs to be replaced.

A new laptop is probably cheaper.
