computer says i dont have a sound device? Solved/Closed

Hello,
 My name is Alex and recently my old computer mother board has been fried so i borrows another computer from my dad its very fast and it works fine, but when i connected my LCD from my old computer to the one i received there was no sound. The LCD produces sound and it does work but when i checked control panel it said i had no audio device how do i fix this. Please help!!!Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 8.0

please help i have lenovo model 20150 series g580 i located the driver on lenovo site the file name is au200w81.exe but when i execute this file and it tries to install the driver it cannot find the device and comes back with this error message - when i go to devices manager - sound video controllers - i am missing "conexant audio driver" which used to be there - supposedly this file "au200w81" should install the 'conexant audio driver' as it used to do it previously and for some reason it fails to install it and gives an error message in return that it cannot find the device - my computer has windows 8.1 (which was upgraded by me as original computer had windows 8 when I bought it new) ever since i upgraded to windows 8.1 i started to have these audio issues - which i used to resolve -but am unable to because i cannot find the device --- please help - thanks
