Have you tried connecting the drive to another PC and using another USB cable? Happens the same?
When you connect the drive to your Win10 laptop, do you hear any beep sound and is the HDD’s LED on? Can you feel the drive spinning and were you able to use the external with this laptop or it never worked?
Go to Device Manager and search for the drive under USB devices. If it is listed there, uninstall it and restart the PC. Reconnect the drive and open Disk Management. Does the drive appear with correct file format and drive letter?
