Acer Laptop Gone for Good?

Hello, I own an Acer laptop, not sure which, and it's 2 years old. It started crashing when I got a new charger after the old one broke. It now wont boot properly, it starts up with a black flickering screen and not all of the lights light up. I really need this fixed because I need my laptop to do school work.

The signs are ominous. It's going to need "hands-on" access to diagnose the problem. Perhaps a local PC repair shop can do the work. But, replacement might cost less than repair.
